Position Overview: Job Workplace: Kigali, Rwanda The Sewer Networks Construction Manager will oversee the construction of sewer networks and associated infrastructure projects. This role is critical in ensuring that all construction activities are executed efficiently while adhering to safety, quality, and environmental standards. The individual will coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure successful project completion on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities:
Direct and manage construction projects for sewer networks, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and regulatory requirementsPlan and schedule project timelines and milestones while managing the budget and resource allocationConduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure construction adheres to safety and quality standardsCoordinate with subcontractors and construction crews to ensure effective communication and collaborationIdentify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are metPrepare regular reports on project status, challenges, and achievements for stakeholdersNegotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholdersOversee the selection and procurement of materials and equipment necessary for constructionEngage with local authorities and communities to ensure compliance with local laws and regulationsLead project close-out activities, including final inspections and documentationRequirementsQualifications:
At least a master's degree in civil engineering or construction managementMore than 12 projects experience of wastewater treatment and sewer networkMinimum of 12-20 years of experience in construction management, specifically in sewer and drainage projectsStrong understanding of sewer construction techniques, environmental regulations, and safety standardsProven track record of successfully managing construction projects from initiation to completionExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with teams and stakeholdersProficiency in construction management software and tools for project tracking and reportingStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges and optimize project performanceAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyValid driver's license is requiredPreferred Qualification:
