Job Description

Position Overview: Job Workplace: Kigali, Rwanda The Wastewater Treatment Construction Manager will lead and manage construction activities for wastewater treatment projects. This role involves coordinating with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure that wastewater treatment facilities are built to specifications, on schedule, and within budget. The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire construction process, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting, while adhering to environmental regulations and safety standards.

The Scope of Works shall comprise of the Design and construction of a collective sewerage system (collection and conveyance network including gravity & pumped systems) for the Sewage Treatment Plant. Key Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and supervise all aspects of wastewater treatment construction projectsManage subcontractors and construction crews, ensuring adherence to contract specifications and schedulesConduct regular inspections and assessments of project progress to ensure quality standards and compliance with regulationsCollaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedulesEnsure that all safety and environmental regulations are followed throughout the construction processPrepare and present regular reports on project status, including financial performance, schedule adherence, and any issues that ariseCommunicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and community representativesImplement project controls to manage costs, quality, and schedule risks effectivelyAdditional Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain partnerships with vendors and subcontractorsParticipate in project meetings, providing updates and facilitating discussions on challenges and solutionsLead project close-out activities, including documentation and final inspectionsStay current with industry trends and advancements in wastewater treatment technologiesRequirementsQualifications: Educational qualifications: At least a master's degree in civil engineering or construction management. Minimum Years of Experience in Similar Sewerage Work (years): 12-20 years Depends on position. preferably in wastewater treatment or environmental projects.

More than 12 projects experience of waste water treatment and sewer networkStrong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, technologies, and regulatory requirementsProven experience managing construction sites, including safety and quality controlExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with stakeholdersProficiency in construction management software and project tracking toolsValid driving license is requiredSkills: Strong leadership and project management skills to supervise teams and coordinate multiple projectsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsProblem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutionsAttention to detail and commitment to quality and safetyUnderstanding of budgeting and cost control in construction projectsCV Format:
