This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing risk management across the EU region, ensuring regulatory alignment, and acting as the key liaison with the Bank of Lithuania. The Head of Risk will play a critical role in shaping the company’s risk posture as it transitions from a VASP to a fully licensed CASP under MiCA. 🎯 Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary risk representative to the Bank of Lithuania and other EU regulators. Own and implement the local risk management framework in alignment with group policies. Conduct risk assessments, define risk appetite, and oversee enterprise risk reporting.
Collaborate with compliance, trading, and data teams to ensure risk is embedded in decision-making. Support the licensing process and ongoing regulatory obligations under MiCA. Contribute to board-level reporting and risk governance. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all matters of operational, financial, and strategic risk. 👤 Candidate Requirements8+ years of experience in risk management within a highly regulated environment. Strong understanding of EU regulatory frameworks, ideally with experience in a regulated entity (EMI, bank, or crypto firm). Proven ability to engage with regulators and represent a business at board level.
Fluent in English; Lithuanian language skills are highly preferred. Based in Lithuania or willing to relocate; familiarity with the local regulatory landscape is essential. Experience in both operational and financial risk is ideal; quantitative skills are a plus but not mandatory.
