Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Analyst, Trade supports Global Trade Compliance in developing, implementing, and continuously improving Coherent’s global trade compliance program. The focus of this role is to ensure compliance with applicable export controls and review transactions for compliance with U.S. export control laws and Coherent policies. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience at an U.S. headquartered global company with direct experience reviewing transactionsEducation & ExperienceEducationUnderstanding of export laws and regulations including Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)Associate degree in a related field requiredBachelor’s degree in a related field preferred3+ years’ experience working in an U.S. headquartered, global corporationRestricted Party Screening and Order Review (75%)Review orders in Oracle and other applicable corporate systems to ensure all transactions have been screened and potential matches to restricted parties are fully resolvedValidate all transaction products have an up-to-date jurisdiction and classification determinationConduct review of end use documentation for completeness and compliance with corporate guidance Perform additional diligence as warranted to identify potential prohibited end usesPerform assessments of potential diversion risks pursuant to regulator and corporate guidance Apply defined risk criteria to transactions to identify and address compliance risks Review technology transfers to third parties such as suppliers and customers as directed Prepare escalation reporting for senior leadership for high-risk transactionsClassification (25%)Support export jurisdiction classification determinationsAssisting in the broader development of a jurisdiction & classification program at Coherent Corp for Export Administration Regulation (EAR) controlled itemsSkillsAdvanced knowledge of international trade regulations including the EARExcellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written formIndividual must possess strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, ever-changing environmentCustomer service oriented with both internal and external customersIndividual must be proficient with Microsoft Office products & a PC based environmentUnderstanding of each country and U.S. government licensing systemsExperience with Restricted Party Screening systemsInteract and communicate effectively with others and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyISO 9001 or similar quality experience preferredWorking ConditionsThis role is hybridCulture CommitmentEnsure adherence to company’s values (ICARE) in all aspects of your position at Coherent Corp.:Integrity – Create an Environment of TrustCollaboration – Innovate Through the Sharing of IdeasAccountability – Own the Process and the OutcomeRespect – Recognize the Value in EveryoneEnthusiasm – Find a Sense of Purpose in WorkCoherent Corp. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
