The BSEMI division offers the most comprehensive portfolio of tools, based on AFM and X-ray technologies including XRR (X-ray reflectometry), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), XRD (X-ray diffraction), XRDI (X-ray diffraction imaging), XCD (X-ray Critical dimension), and WLI (White Light Interferometry) & NI (Nano Indentation) technologies as well.We are looking for a talented engineer or scientist to join BSEMI to introduce and support AFM metrology technology for the semiconductor industry. This position reports to Regional Application Manager and is located at Korea/Hwasung.ResponsibilitiesAs a Staff Engineer, Application, the summary of responsibilities include: Primary customer applications expert for AFM Provides technical expertise through customer consultation, product demonstrations, installation, and maintenance of company products. Assists customers with assessing potential applications to meet process metrology needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. May build an application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. May provide software development and consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. Support of the core AFM engineering and production teams in qualification of new technologies, algorithms, methodologies, software, and hardware features. Ensures that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications including source inspection of the tools prior to shipment and following installation. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications. Will work with our customers from prior to the sale, through delivery and installation. Work in close cooperation with our factory engineers and scientists. QualificationsAs a Staff Engineer, Application you should possess the following requirementsEducational/Experience Requirements Degree in material science, chemical engineering, chemistry, or physics (B.Sc. minimum, M.Sc. or PhD is preferred). Prior experience in a semiconductor fab, preferably with semiconductor metrology systems. Familiarity with metrology and characterization techniques (preferably hands-on work and results analysis). Experience in AFM analysis of the different metrology techniques preferred. Experience as application engineer on AFM technology is a plus. Good knowledge of statistics and data analysis. Fluent in English and experience in technical writing Demonstrated oral & written communications and interpersonal relationship skills, particularly intercultural skills; strong customer orientation. Ability to work and be creative under pressure and with tight deadlines. Self-organized and self-disciplined. Ability to work alone and within a team environment to solve problems. Experience working in the semiconductor industry and familiarity with problem analysis and troubleshooting techniques. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Prior experience working in a semiconductor fab as an employee or supplier. Positive “can do” attitude, a highly motivated self-starter. Relishes working in a performance-driven environment Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with internal and external customers and support groups within Bruker Resourceful, proactive, meticulous. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared goals, but also equally comfortable working independently when required. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Goal oriented with good track record in achieving targets. Strong technical background - able to understand the problems that our customers are trying to solve, understanding of the customer’s current and future metrology requirements, and able to recommend new metrology opportunities to Bruker. Solid understanding of semiconductor metrology requirements. Able to travel internationally on short notice. Expect 50% - 80% travel. Main work site is customer’s designated area like Icheon & Chungju (SKHynix), Hwasung and Pyeongtaek (Samsung)
