Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking an Accounting Specialist 2 to provide limited support of accounting functions.
This role is responsible for posting and journalizing for complex accounts, as well as, reviewing and approving financial transactions relative to collections, refunds, funds disbursement, cost accounting, expenditure control, budgeting, grants management, program analysis, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and completeness of calculations, legitimacy of transactions, and proper authorization. Minimum QualificationsTwo years of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations. Experience Substitution: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties: Job Duties and Other InformationEstablishes fees for new consumers according to agency guidelines. Enters information into Claimtrak, related to income, benefits, and dependents. Provides consumers with information related to insurance benefits and out of pocket cost. Reassess and update fees when necessary and obtain necessary information and proof/verification to update chart. Maintain necessary forms for the establishment of fees as necessary. Updates fee information as needed/required, in accordance with agency guidelines.
Accepts payments from consumers and provide them with receipts. Make daily deposits and submit the Daily Check/Cash Log, according to agency guidelines. Maintain supporting documentation for audit purposes. Independently composes letter/emails to answer routine correspondence. Screens mail and telephone calls, disseminating to appropriate staff. Assist with scheduling appointments and completes phone calls related to upcoming appointments. Creates and keeps all consumer records current, filing reports/evaluations, correspondence, discharge summaries, and etc. using LDH policy for open/close cases. Strict adherence to policies related to criteria for services, confidentiality/disclosure of consumer records, disposal of records, etc.
Assist consumers with completing the Medicaid application process. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special DutyCompensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans. 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians. (Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.
