Job Duties and Other InformationConduct thorough investigations of reported abuse, neglect, exploitation, or extortion involving vulnerable adults with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities living in various community and facility settings. Assess client needs and risk factors by interviewing clients, caregivers, providers, and reviewing medical or psychological records to determine immediate safety concerns and service requirements. Develop and implement individualized service plans in coordination with healthcare providers, social service agencies, and family members to reduce risk and stabilize the client’s situation.
Collaborate closely with law enforcement, legal professionals, and community agencies to facilitate appropriate civil or criminal actions, including preparing reports, affidavits, and providing testimony in court when necessary. Maintain comprehensive and confidential case documentation, ensuring timely and accurate data entry and reporting in compliance with agency and legal standards. Participate in ongoing training and community education efforts to stay current on adult protective services best practices and to promote awareness of adult abuse prevention in the community.
