About This JobWe’re looking for a Habilitation Instructor 3 to join our dedicated team at Central Louisiana Supports and Services Center (CLSSC)—a facility committed to providing active treatment and healthcare services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and orthopedic disabilities in the least restrictive environment.

Experience Substitution:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other InformationServes a day program manager throughout the various active treatment program such as the adaptive daily living skills program, community based training program, recreational program, art program, and/or other areas of active treatment within the Habilitation/Day Program. Plans activities, life skill lessons, community orientation trips for residents attending the day program, ensuring they have an opportunity to interact with other members of the community. Reports and assists in investigation of all instances of alleged abuse and neglect of residents attending day services.

Through assistive technology, provides programs that will enable residents in formal and informal activities designed to provide training in the active treatment day program. Provides programming for residents that will encourage the development of skills through the use of various modalities such as the use of: assistive technology for communication, academic, community based training, and daily living activities. Provide support to direct care staff in their use of technology in delivery of curriculum through a variety of instructional methods. Integrate the use of hardware, software and internet resources that support resident's learning skill needs.

Assists direct care staff in meeting resident's goals and objectives. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probation, Promotion, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointed if selected.
