About This Position: The incumbent is responsible for repairs on all marine equipment in order to keep the ferries in service. Minimum QualificationsOne year of experience or training as a mechanic. Job Duties and Other InformationTroubleshoots and repairs major and non-typical problems on diesel engines, pumps and other marine equipment in order to keep the ferries in service. This includes changing all coolers, adjusting governors, rebuilding engines, changing heads, and breaking down equipment and diagnosing problems, etc. Directs and oversees the rebuilding and repair of marine equipment in the marine repair shop, such as pumps, outdrives, gears, etc. . . Develops parts, tools and supply lists to able to repair marine equipment. Also to keep spare parts supply for emergency outages.

Provides technical support and training to marine operations staff and marine trades helpersPosition-Specific Details: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Mechanic 1, 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).
