Description of WorkResponsibilitiesReporting to the Administrative Officer II, this position will plan, implement, and coordinate all training activities and/or technical tasks for all employees of a correctional facility, in order to accomplish the specialized processing of information, documents, and/or materials. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Training of certified and non-certified staff to ensure compliance with policy. Ensuring specialized training is coordinated and policy requirements are met. Conducting new employee orientations to ensure newly hired staff are oriented to policies and procedures.
Serving as an instructor for general and specialized training and maintaining instructor certifications as defined by policy and the Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Scheduling instructors for classes to ensure training requirements are met. Instructing classes in the absence of scheduled instructors. Ensuring OSDT records are keyed into the LMS system and maintaining training records as required by policy. Working well with staff and other training professionals within Adult Correction and the Community College system. Prioritizing work effectively to meet established deadlines as well as responding to immediate needs.
Staying abreast of all policy changes that can effect training and/or instruction and ensuring all lesson plans are current and approved. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
