Headquartered in San Francisco, our investors include Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.Position: AI Tutor – Statistics SpecialistType: Full-timeCompensation: $90,000–$200,000/yearLocation: Palo Alto, CA (in-office five days per week) or RemoteCommitment: 9:00am–5:30pm PST for the first two weeks of training, then 9:00am–5:30pm in your local timezoneRole ResponsibilitiesUse proprietary software to annotate and evaluate statistical data, equations, and model outputs.Design and select challenging statistical problems in areas such as probability theory, regression modeling, and Bayesian inference.Collaborate with technical teams to refine annotation tools and workflows for higher accuracy and efficiency.Analyze and critique AI-generated statistical reasoning to improve clarity, correctness, and interpretability.Ensure the highest standard of data quality and maintain consistency across diverse tasks and formats, including text, voice, and video.QualificationsMust-HaveMaster's or PhD in Statistics, or Mathematics with a strong focus on probability or applied statistics.Exceptional command of English, both written and verbal.Proven ability to analyze complex data and apply sound statistical judgment.Strong research and reasoning skills with excellent attention to detail.Ability to work independently while managing evolving and complex instructions.PreferredPhD in Statistics or a closely related quantitative field.Peer-reviewed publications in statistics, probability, or applied modeling.Previous teaching or tutoring experience in university-level statistics or mathematics.Prior involvement in AI training, data labeling, or model evaluation.Compensation & LegalCompetitive pay ranging from $90,000 to $200,000 annually for U.S.-based professionals, depending on experience and location.Comprehensive medical benefits for all full-time employees.U.S.-based applicants must reside outside of Wyoming and Illinois.Visa sponsorship is not available.Application Process (Takes 20–30 mins to complete)Submit your resume.Complete a 20-minute interview focused on your experience and expertise.Successful candidates will advance to additional rounds and meet the team.The full process typically takes about one week.Resources & SupportFor details about the interview process and platform information, please check: https://talent.docs.mercor.com/welcome/welcomeFor any help or support, reach out to: support@mercor.comPS: Our team reviews applications daily.
