The role | Te tūngaThis fixed term role will support a Stats NZ project to develop and deliver several updated macroeconomic measures, including collecting and reporting on a monthly Consumers Price Index from the start of 2027.

In This Role, You WillCollect information needs and data requirements from teams across Stats NZNegotiate requirements between data suppliers and Stats NZ, with a focus on feasibility, viability, desirability, legality, and ethicsOversee, govern, capture, and validate information about data and data qualityDevelop a supply and acquisition road map for Stats NZ's monthly CPI and data related needsCoordinate data acquisition as part of the development of the monthly CPIWork closely with Stats NZ's legal, privacy and data security teamsWhat you bring | Nōu te rourouTo Be Successful In This Role You Will NeedIn-depth understanding of data and data quality3-5 years' experience in data sourcing or contract managementExcellent communication skills, both written and oralExperience turning technical data requirements into contractsThe ability to adapt and deal with ambiguityAttention to detailExperience building and maintaining strong stakeholder/customer relationshipsDemonstrated customer centricity.
