Job Description

🎯 Purpose Of The RoleEnsure the organization has accurate and reliable quantity and cost estimates for reinforcing steel, enabling competitive proposals, reducing financial risks, and supporting proper project planning and execution.🔧 Key ResponsibilitiesCalculate quantities of reinforcing bars and accessories from 2D drawings, 3D/BIM models, and design specifications.Estimate weights, lengths, splices, laps, hooks, supports, and waste factors in compliance with ACI, ASTM, and project requirements.Develop detailed internal cost estimates, including materials, fabrication, transportation, installation labor, and contingencies.Communicate with clients or general contractors to confirm scope, clarifications, and exclusions, issuing RFIs as needed.Conduct peer reviews to verify the accuracy, consistency, and quality of estimates.Identify value engineering opportunities and potential construction or cost risks.Build and maintain a historical database of material prices and productivity factors.Coordinate with internal teams (Detailing, Commercial, Procurement, and Project Management) to deliver complete and up-to-date estimate packages.Monitor steel, transportation, and labor markets to maintain competitive pricing.Promote continuous improvement through automation, standardization, and enhancement of estimating tools and templates.🎓 EducationTechnical, Technologist, or Professional degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent field experience.💼 Experience RequiredOver 5 years of experience estimating reinforcing steel for commercial, industrial, bridge, or heavy civil projects, with a proven record of accurate quantitative assessments.Specific RequirementsProficiency in at least one rebar estimating platform: aSa Estimating, Shear 97, Soulé, RGS, or equivalent.Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.Familiarity with BIM viewers (Revit, Navisworks) for 3D quantity extraction.Practical knowledge of ACI 318, CRSI Manual, ASTM A615/A706/A955 (or equivalent regional standards).Understanding of transportation and labor cost principles.English level: C1.We OfferParticipation in high-impact projects.Opportunities for technical and professional growth.A collaborative environment focused on accuracy, innovation, and continuous improvement.Are you meticulous, analytical, and passionate about structural engineering?💬 Apply now and be part of a team that builds with precision—from estimation to execution!
