Lead a new team within this immensely successful organisationOpportunity to join a strong, supportive leadership team who want your inputImmediate start available About the RoleDutiesWe are looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to join and lead this new division within the business. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to enhance operational performance within a successful team. This role is based in Ashburton and you will be reporting to the Operations Manager. You will be responsible for initiating and executing a Continuous Improvement program, with a strong focus on Safety, Quality and Cost.
You will work closely with many members of the team including the Site Manager, Operations Manager, Planning Team and Administration team, as well as others. You must have strong proven knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing and be a key advocate for all things Health and Safety in production. We are looking for somebody who has proven experience in leading a team in a manufacturing environment. As this is a critical role within the business, we are looking for somebody to join us on a long-term basis who wants to really integrate into the team. Your duties will include:
Improving processes and efficiency within the businessAnalyse all criteria and data and be able to identify opportunities for improvementOptimise the utilisation of process control systemsHave a strong presence and lead the New Product Development initiativesImprove quality, safety and productivity and increase marginsConduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) of losses or issues and present suggestions for improvementLeading the team and inspiring their motivation and attitudeEnsure Health and Safety procedures are followed and investigate any incidentsEnsuring a wide range of lean manufacturing approaches are implementedCoaching and developing the team membersRole RequirementsIt is essential that you come from a strong Continuous Improvement background (minimum 3 years) within manufacturing environmentA firm understanding of Lean/5SIndustrial Engineering qualification or comparableKnowledge of food safety practices (HACCP and GMP) would be advantageousProven abilities with project managementDemonstrated strong leadership skillsExcellent understanding of Health & Safety procedures About the CompanyWe are a leading international food production company specialising in vegetables.
