An exciting opportunity to join the City Development directorate of the Council as Strategic Skills Manager. The successful postholder will play a key role in designing, attracting and implementing wide-ranging and transformative investment programmes across the City. Designed to support our communities and businesses through improving adult skills, employability and productivity, and overcoming barriers to employment. As part of the Get Britain Working policy agenda the role will also involve close working with public health partners to deliver coordinated and impactful interventions.The postholder will use creativity and innovation to deliver these hugely positive outcomes, with a real opportunity to test and learn new approaches, working closely with a range of dynamic funding and delivery partners and agencies. York has a strong and diverse economy, with exciting sector specialisms and world leading institutions, which investment programmes will tap into. The senior leadership role will represent York’s interests in regional and national discussions, manage internal and external resources, and span policy, data, programme/ project management and relationship development.The post is offered on a permanent full-time basis and would be based at West Offices, Station Rise with flexible working supported and a great team around you.This post is suitable as a job share opportunity.Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team. Please note, we do not have a sponsorship licence to sponsor individuals for visas to work in the UK, therefore we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
