Strategy & Commercial Director, Packaging business

Main purpose of the role:BU-level Strategy: Define and execute the overall global Commercial strategy for the multi-segment packaging portfolio (Can, Paper, and Flexible), ensuring alignment with Group strategic objectives, focusing on sustainable and profitable growth, in line with Thai Union Group’s strategyP&L ownership: Own the end-to-end P&L for the Packaging BU. Be accountable for top-line revenue, gross margin, and overall market share performance across all material segments. Set yearly financial targets and collaborate with leadership to proactively mitigate material cost and supply chain risks that may impact achieving targetsCommercial excellence: Drive commercial excellence capabilities, ensuring consistent deployment across all key accounts. Demonstrate a track record in new account penetration, market share growth, and creating enduring client relationships through value-based selling and multi-material solution delivery.Operational collaboration: Facilitate seamless coordination with Ambient & Packaging Operation, Supply Chain, and R&D teams through the S&OP process. Provide accurate demand inputs and feedback on production service levels, and jointly drive cross-BU productivity and innovation projects related to material efficiency and cost optimization, including improve shared KPIs and accountabilities Innovation collaboration: Collaborate with the R&D Lead and Global Innovation Center to define the innovation strategy, specifically linking market needs for sustainability, lightweighting, and barrier technologies to the product development roadmap across Can, Paper, and Flexible solutions.People: Motivate, lead and challenge team members to reach / exceed BU and individual targets and objectives. Improve and sustain employee engagement across Ambient Operation/Packaging BU to be within the top quartile. Build longer term view/plan around people; prepare succession plans at different levels. Set a positive working culture across Ambient Operation/Packaging BU and with teams across Thai UnionDesired candidate profile:Deep commercial expertise in B2B sales, international strategy, and P&L ownership across multiple material types (Can, Paper, Flexible). Proven ability to identify and analyze complex problems (especially commodity risk) and develop effective global solutions. Demonstrates strong relationship management and high-level negotiation skills.Strong interpersonal skills to foster a culture of collaboration and effectively drive cross-functional collaborationBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a technical discipline. An MBA or master's degree in a relevant field is highly preferred.Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial roles, including at least 7+ years in an executive commercial leadership position within the B2B packaging or related manufacturing industry.Proficient in English
