About the roleAs a Strategy & Planning Intern at The Great Room (“TGR”), you will play a dual role in supporting the strategic initiatives of the company and the operational efficiency of the Finance team. This is an unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, financial analysis and accounting operations while working closely with cross-functional teams. The Finance Intern will report to the Strategy & Planning Manager.
What you’ll doStrategy and Planning SupportSupport the preparation of high-quality monthly business reports, business cases, and presentations for internal and external stakeholdersFacilitate cross-functional initiatives to optimise business processes and outcomesAssist in building detailed financial models to support investment decisions and strategic planningProvide administrative and analytical support to the Strategy and Planning Manager in key projects.
Business Performance MonitoringTrack key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct variance analysis and generate reports, and provide insights to the senior management team on business performanceAnalyse data to uncover actionable insights and help identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue growthSupport the design and implementation of dashboards and reporting toolsFinance and Accounting OperationsPerform bank reconciliation of receipts and paymentsHands on exposure to prepare full sets of accountsSupport the compliance of finance processes across the CompanyAssist in ad hoc assignments as requiredBuild a database of historical assumptions used for fitout costs and develop a robust way to estimate capex for future new locationsWho you areLooking for:
6-month internship (min. 3-month commitment: Full time) Qualifications: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or the equivalentStrong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerpointStrong knowledge of accounting principles and willingness to learnFamiliarity with data visualisation tools (e. g. Tableau, Power BI) for dashboard creation is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skills; confident interacting within the team and cross-company teams at various levels of seniorityHave strong organisational and planning skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
