From video and photography to motion graphics and digital storytelling, this is your chance to make an impact through design that truly resonates. As a member of the Integrated Communications, Change and Engagement branch, this role leads the implementation of the brand's visual identity and develops engaging multimedia designs to support consistency and professionalism to strengthen the County's brand reputation. With expertise in videography, photography, and graphic and digital design, this position captures high quality visuals and produces creative assets for social media, digital engagement, and communications efforts.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and leading the implementation of the County's brand presence, ensuring multimedia and design resonate effectively across diverse channels while aligning with strategic communication goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead creative concept development and implementation for corporate projects, ensuring brand integrity and consistency across all communicationsDevelop compelling graphics, photography, and videography for social media and digital engagementExplore and implement emerging design trends, technologies, and creative techniques to push the boundaries of multimedia storytelling and user engagementDevelop visually engaging multimedia assets that prioritize usability, accessibility, and intuitive interaction, creating adaptable designs that enhance user engagement across various digital platformsProvide leadership in the application of centre-led standards for the brand visual identity and establish and uphold best practices for multimedia design, ensuring alignment with corporate branding and communication standardsOversee creative platforms, tools and equipment with strong collaboration with other creative specialistsRequirementsQualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree or post-secondary diploma in graphic design, multimedia design, visual arts/communications, or a related fieldAt least 4 years of experience working in a creative multimedia role, with demonstrated expertise and experience in provided communications servicesHigh proficiency in computer literacy with demonstrated experience in Adobe Creative Suite (including Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premier Pro/Rush, After Effects, Audition, Media Encoder, Animate), digital signage and web content management systems (internal and external), social media and Microsoft Office SuiteExtensive experience in multimedia design, including graphic design, animation, video production, and interactive mediaStrong understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles to create engaging and accessible designKnowledge of branding, marketing strategies, and digital media trends to align design work with business objectivesExcellent planning, organizational, project management, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under time restraints and adapt to changing job prioritiesSolid understanding of communications principles and practices within the field, and of Strathcona County communication policies, guidelines and protocolsCreative ability with knowledge of layout, graphic design and application to web-based materialsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively at all levels, both internally and externallyStrong knowledge of commercial printing and standards to efficiently produce quality and cost-effective promotional piecesStrong interpersonal skills and team qualities, ability to work with confidence and collaboratively with others throughout the organization to share communications expertiseSalary & BenefitsSalary Range:
