The precise focus and nature of the work will be determined by the needs of Faculty Affairs and the student’s skills. The student will employ software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Word, or other tools to support program and event management. The student worker will gain experience working with higher educational professionals.The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA), a unit within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, supports faculty hiring, promotion and professional development at the University of Georgia. The office maintains faculty records, implements faculty-related policies, and provides faculty with professional development programs for each stage of their career. Within OFA is the Faculty and Leadership Development subunit. We offer professional development programs on topics related to 1) planning for success as a faculty member, 2) effective mentoring, 3) academic leadership development, and 4) increasing faculty engagement and sense of community. Specific programs include Aspire Fellows, Creating a Sustainable Writing Practice, Faculty Interest Groups, Faculty Learning Communities, New Leader Program, Keys to UGA: New Faculty Academy, and more.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies :Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently, attention to detail.Strong written communication skills. Ability to write for a professional audience (for example, correspondence, reports, and LinkedIn posts).Accuracy in tasks such as data entry in Excel spreadsheets, proof readingStrong interpersonal skills.
