Job Description

Student Assistant – Network Technologies, Software Technologies & Python  Munich University of Digital Technologies & Applied Sciences (MUDT) is looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Student Assistant (HiWi) to support teaching activities in the courses of Network and Internet Technologies, Software Applications & Technology, and Python-based courses in collaboration with Lecturers. This role is ideal for bachelor students in higher semesters or master’s students, preferably from Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields. Students from other majors with strong practical experience are also welcome. Responsibilities Provide academic support to students during and after classes Assist with practical exercises, tutorials, and hands-on lab sessions Help students understand foundational and advanced networking concepts Support students with software development workflows, tools, and environments Optional: Assist with math-related topics and Python programming  Required Knowledge & Practical Skills Networking & Internet Technologies TCP/IP network stack Application protocols (HTTP, DNS), socket programming in Python Transport layer concepts (multiplexing, RDT, UDP/TCP) Network layer (IP, NAT, ICMP, network control plane) Link layer fundamentals (LANs, ARP, switching)  Software Applications & Technology Command line (Linux/macOS/WSL) Git & GitHub workflows Containers: Docker & Docker Compose Linux basics and system navigation IDE usage (VS Code) & DevContainers Testing, CI/CD pipelines, cloud basics  Python Advanced Python programming experience  Optional but highly valued Strong foundations in mathematics Experience supporting peers or tutoring   What We Offer A flexible student position at a modern, innovative university Hands-on teaching experience in a state-approved engineering environment Opportunity to work closely with professors and contribute to academic development A supportive, international campus community Competitive compensation according to standard HiWi rates  How to Apply Please send your CV and a short motivation statement to: hr@uni-munich.de  Subject: Application – Student Assistant (Network/Software)
