Disney Studios Australia (DSA) is the largest, fully integrated film studio and production facility in the Southern Hemisphere situated in the centre of Sydney. It is designed and tailored to accommodate international and domestic feature film and television production in addition to a wide variety of industry businesses and activity within the entire content creation value chain.Occupying a 32-acre site and providing services and facilities of the highest industry standards, the studio features a wide variety of facility and occupancy types including nine sound stages, production offices, workshops and hosts over 50 independent entertainment industry businesses including catering and a cafe. Over its 27-year history, the studio has accommodated over $3bn worth of international productions along with a wide range of domestic films, television shows, TVCs and events. The heritage site is formerly the grounds of the Royal Agricultural Society and provides an eclectic mix of heritage buildings and purpose-built production facilities amongst manicured landscapes.The opportunity:The Studio Safety Manager is responsible for leading safety at Disney Studios Australia.The role is responsible for ensuring the implementation of efficient health and safety solutions, emergency procedures and policies, training programs, as well as overseeing the creation and management of relevant health and safety documentation and reporting.In addition, the Studio Safety Manager contributes to achieving efficiencies in the physical operation, improvements in WHS and compliance, and maintains a proactive attitude toward providing the best possible customer service to all clients and staff.The role works collaboratively with all DSA business units, support functions (such as Global Security, Facilities and Human Resources), tenants, and productions to develop, coordinate, and promote effective safety initiatives.This role will be very active in engaging with the Studio community as an advocate for improved safety and lowered environmental impact through planning, project implementation, research, reporting and communication.Ideal experience:5-10 years’ experience in a similar or related role Hold a minimum of Certificate IV in Health and SafetyHold or be willing to hold Occupational First AidHold a Class C Unrestricted Driver’s LicenseExtensive experience in Work Health and SafetyExtensive experience in emergency protocol and procedures and skilled in fire response and appropriate certificationProven experience in Alarm monitoring systemsProven experience in Traffic control and relevant certification The employee is expected to be onsite at least 5 days per weekIdeal skills:Strong stakeholder management skills and comfortable liaising with all tenants and staff within the premisesBe able to present site wide Work Health and Safety inductions to staff, tenants and productionsAbility to interpret policy and legislationRoll out and implement policy and safety updates to the all staff, ensuring a comprehensive understanding is portrayedStrong influencing and negotiation skillsExcellent time management skillsIssue resolution skillsProficient IT SkillsExcellent attention to detailImmediate Excel and Word skillsAbility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentStrong work ethicAdditional Information:If you are an external candidate, please note only applicants who have the unrestricted right to work in Australia/New Zealand will be considered for this role.
