Job DescriptionWe’re looking for an experienced sales professional to take on the role of Account Director. Join us here at Stuff helping to shape high-impact client solutions and drive commercial success across some of New Zealand’s most influential media brands. As Account Director, you’ll act as the lead point of contact for a portfolio of strategic accounts and agency partners. You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering initiatives that drive commercial growth, while also maintaining exceptional relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Your remit will cover everything from revenue generation and account planning, to business development and sales leadership. You’ll work closely with the Head of Independent Agencies & Strategic Clients and the wider agency sales team to ensure our commercial partnerships not only meet expectations, they consistently exceed them. A key part of your role will be harnessing data, insights and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools, to optimise campaign performance, improve client outcomes, and enhance internal ways of working.

Your curiosity and understanding of how AI can support marketing, content delivery and customer engagement will be a valuable asset in staying ahead of industry trends. Key ResponsibilitiesLead and nurture client, agency, and partner relationships, ensuring commercial targets and service standards are met. Develop and implement strategic sales plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Identify new business opportunities and actively contribute to pitches, proposals and onboarding processes. Monitor and manage revenue performance, forecasts, yield, and compliance with Terms of Trade. Guide the development of client account plans and strategic growth frameworks using the company CRM system.

Provide day-to-day leadership across the agency sales team, mentoring and coaching team members to high performance. Translate market trends and AI-driven insights into commercial opportunities that deliver value for clients and the business. What You’ll BringProven senior-level account management experience in a creative, digital, media or integrated agency setting. Excellent relationship-building skills with a history of forging long-term, trusted partnerships. Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and experience managing revenue pipelines, forecasts, and budgets. Awareness of AI tools and technologies in media and marketing, and how to apply them to improve delivery and effectiveness.

Confident communicator and presenter, comfortable working with senior stakeholders both internally and externally. Leadership skills and a collaborative approach to mentoring and supporting account managers. Experience in integrated marketing strategy, digital channels, content marketing and campaign measurement. Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, Meta Business Manager or similar platforms is advantageous.
