Purpose and Scope of Job: We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of our assembly facility of approximately 70 employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing production, safety, quality, staffing, inventory, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the facility runs efficiently and meets all operational goals. Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
· Oversee daily plant operations, including production planning, scheduling, and workflow coordination· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards· Monitor and create key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when targets are not met· Identify areas for continuous improvement actions (Kaizen). · Support training, development, and performance management of direct reports and staff when required. · Develop and control the annual CapEx budget. · Serve as first point of contact for building emergencies, communication to executive management, and management of vendor relations. · Facility contractors’ coordination and management.
· Manage production functions and ensure that the customer satisfaction levels for products and service delivery are met or exceeded. · Develop strategies and make decisions that use time and resources wisely, manage resources effectively (Lean). · Solve problems effectively and timely, set priorities and make decisions based on analysis, data, experience and judgment. · Direct, implement and maintain operational policies and procedures. · Maintain budget control and targets for the facility. · Staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. · Support 6S initiative · Establish objectives and monitor overall performance for production and quality standards.
· Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives. · Perform additional assignments as directed by the Canadian Operations Manager. Minimum Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, or minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an Operations Supervisory position. · Five (5) years of experience in assembly operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role· Knowledge of health & safety (OHSA/WSIB or equivalent) compliance requirements· Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement certification· Strong organizational and management skills. · Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
· Demonstrate financial ability to develop and manage capital budgets; create and implement savings initiatives across the area. · Demonstrate subject matter expertise in facility management, project management, client relations. · Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Tableau. Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal/typewriter; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds. Overnight travel occasionally required in accordance with business needs.
