We are intensely focused on bringing economic value to our customers, shareholders, and employees – while solving pressing resource challenges facing the United States and the world.The Team Business Development is a critical function at Maverick which spans commercial strategy, financial insights, and operational execution. We work closely with Sales, Finance, and the C-Suite, contributing to initiatives that drive revenue, efficiency, and strategic expansion.The RoleWe are seeking a high-performing undergraduate student to join our team in Austin, TX for the summer of 2026. We don’t have time for mock cases, intern projects, or orientation week - as a summer analyst you’ll be a hands-on contributor from day 1. We are in a critical growth phase as a company, and in this role you’ll get the opportunity to work with leaders across the business, including our executive team.ResponsibilitiesMarket Research: Identify, research, and qualify new commercial opportunities to support Mavericks’ continued expansion into critical marketsMarketing: Develop high-quality presentations, proposals, sales collateral, marketing materials, and support Maverick’s external brand growthSocial Media: Draft business updates, thought leadership pieces, and take high-quality photos for Maverick to share across our LinkedIn and X accountsCorporate Strategy: Conduct market and competitive research supporting the Business Development team as they develop actionable strategiesSpecial Projects: Handle ad-hoc tasks that arise in our dynamic environmentQualificationsActively enrolled in an undergraduate degree program studying STEM, Finance, Economics, or other quantitative fieldExperience with basic business tools (Excel, PPT, Gmail)Sharp verbal and written communication skills - you are known as a great communicator by classmates and teachers Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environmentPositive attitude, strong work ethic, high integrityInterested in pursuing a career in deep-tech startups, venture capital, finance, consulting, or the natural resources sector Preferred Skills & Experiences3.5+ GPARelevant work experience part-time or at prior internshipsExperience in a leadership role (school club, greek organization, sports team, religious or charitable group, etc) Evidence of exceptional achievement in an academic or extracurricular environment Completion of relevant coursework in fields such as finance, economics, engineering, science, or business analyticsAdditional RequirementsAvailable to work 40 hours per week in-person at our Austin Lab for 12 consecutive weeks starting in May/June of 2026Ability to provide at least 1 professional reference (friends/family don’t count) Our ValuesCustomer First: Our first and foremost priority is to give customers technology that makes their business more valuable.
