About The ProjectThe Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) highway will dramatically improve safety, resilience, and efficiency, while increasing transport choices for a growing population. The project is being delivered in partnership with NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority, local hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga, and Horowhenua District Council.This is a transformative infrastructure project being delivered using a two-alliance model. We’re looking for great people to join us on this unique journey.About The RoleMcConnell Dowell is seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to coordinate and supervise construction activities across our O2NL Southern Alliance, ensuring the programme is delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. You’ll play a pivotal role in promoting safety, quality, and environmental awareness, while leading a diverse team and driving operational excellence.This role is programmed to start in January 2026. Key ResponsibilitiesEfficiently organise, coordinate, and direct construction activities in line with work schedules and specifications.Ensure all work complies with company policies, operating standards, and relevant codes and specifications.Promote total job safety and environmental awareness among employees, subcontractors, and all site personnel.Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures in consultation with the team.Motivate and manage the workforce, including involvement in disciplinary processes as required.Ensure effective utilisation of equipment, materials, and personnel to meet project timelines and budgets.Submit daily diaries and site performance reports promptly.Report safety incidents, non-conformance reports, and plant damage to the Construction Manager in a timely manner.About YouRelevant trades qualification in construction, building, or manufacturing.Minimum five years’ experience in a similar role within the industry.Strong working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements.Proven ability to lead, direct, and manage diverse teams.Excellent oral and written communication skills.High energy, motivation, and a commitment to quality and safety.Don’t tick all the boxes but still keen?We know that great people come from all kinds of backgrounds.
