The preferred location for this position is in Vaasa, Finland but also other Wärtsilä locations (Helsinki, Turku) in Finland are negotiable. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.Your role and responsibilities:  As a Supplier Development Engineer your work will include:Actively support new product introduction and lead proactive quality assurance activities for castings, machined castings and related assemblies Analyse supplier performance and capabilities, identify development opportunities and drive impactful development actionsDevelop and execute supplier development action plans to improve supplier performance Support suppliers with their operational development initiatives in relation to cost, quality and deliveryExecute supplier audits and audit follow-up according to supplier development action plan and verify impactThe tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of impactful Supplier Development team and casting category team with diverse expertise.Requirements for the position: Previous experience of casting and machining processes and quality managementStrong personal drive for identifying development potential and taking lead on initiativesPerformance-focused mindset and capability to make an impactA systematic way of working and excellent problem-solving skillsGood teamworking, leadership and communication skillsCapability to apply lean principles and statistical process control in daily work for driving improvementQualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have: M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Engineering or Economics and Business Administration, or qualified equivalentFluency in English, both verbal and writtenWillingness to travelExperience of Production Part Approval Process / Experience in quality management for example in manufacturing processesPrevious auditing experience or lead auditor qualification (e.g ISO 9001) is seen as an advantageExperience in SAP is seen as a benefit Why you and us?    You are valued – as your true self.
