The RoleTesla Supplier Industrialization Engineer team is responsible for the component quality control, manufacturing process development and execution and production of parts specifically related to our vehicles, Tesla Energy, batteries and/or any other components intrinsic to the successful operation of the organization. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Supplier Industrialization Engineer (SIE) to support our supply chain teams and contract manufacturing partners on display critical components. The scope includes managing subcomponents and Top-Level-Assembly (TLA) process and qualification activities to support all Supply Chain metrics.This role will report to Supplier Industrialization Engineer Manager. She/he will be a member of our Supply Chain Organization supporting the NPI development, cost down activity implementation, quality improvement and TQP (Tesla Qualification Process) activity to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance. The SIE will build and leverage strong working relationships with each Gigafactory Material Planning team, Quality Assurance team, Display Engineering team and key suppliers to assure quality and delivery targets are timely met.The individual will work towards good supplier quality management and project development delivery to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers. Tesla is a fast moving, dynamic environment where flexibility and adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and motivated with expertise in overall supply management.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the display TLA and sub-component development, validation and management of existing and developing Tesla manufacturing partners.Support setup and develop new process in assembly manufacturing lines with candidate suppliers.Support setup on supplier’s quality control flow and ramping operation (IQC/OQC) based on Tesla display inspection criteria, also to define containment plan and correct actions to ensure engineering design concept and yield target compliance.Conduct FACA on display quality issue and solidate the implementation plan.Access supplier’s production readiness to support engineering build and conduct TQP activity to meet SOP ramp.Influence product manufacturability, testability, and supply chain responsiveness in pursuit of low cost and flexibility, while stewarding quality.Drive supplier’s process performance and coordinate yield improvement to meet manufacturing cost reduction.Support Tesla Gigafactory Quality Team to define and perform containment plan related to supplier-corrective-action-request (SCAR) part defect and field return.Validate supplier corrective actions involving design and/or process changes to ensure they are robust, sustainable, and implemented for similar potential concerns across manufacturing lines and/or suppliers.Present timely, concise reports or plan for product yield performance and supplier capacity.RequirementsMinimum 5+ years’ experience in display industry or other manufacturing quality management areas.BS/MS Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability.Knowledge of any of the following preferred: mechanical subassemblies, mechanical quality control, thixomolding and die-casting process.Technical knowledge in display technologies and manufacturing, such as LCD, Touch Sensor, and OLED a plus.Solid communication skills with the ability to work in multinational environments.Driven and motivated by accomplishing world-class objectives.Experience in manufacturing, process engineering and quality controlling.Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.Results oriented and attention to detail.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present to management.Understanding of costing concepts, cost reduction, modeling, etc. preferred.Ability to travel frequently.
