Purpose/SummaryIn this position, the Supplier Quality & Development Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating supplier performance activities across manufacturing sites, maintaining centralized quality documentation, analyzing supplier data, as well as ensuring suppliers’ compliance to Akebono Brake Corporation’s quality standards.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain supplier documentation, PPAP records, audit results, certifications/CQI audits, and approved supplier listsEnsure corporate level compliance with IATF, ISO and customer specifics requirements Gather information from manufacturing facility and issue Supplier Concern Report SCR for all quality and delivery issues related to supplied partsWork with suppliers to ensure root cause analysis, corrective actions, 5 whys and proven countermeasures are completed in a timely manner according to 8D methodologyEstablish and monitor Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure supplier performance is achieved. Monitor scorecards for each supplier on a monthly basis, request action plan from trouble suppliers and ensure corrective actions to improve key deliverablesManage Supplier requests SPCR and work with cross functional team to ensure all changes are validated as per requirements and necessary approvals in a timely mannerReview PPAP documents like Control Plans, Process Flow, Process Capabilities Cpk, Packaging Data Sheets and all other customer specific documentspassed on to suppliers for cost recovery. Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Educational Qualification and/or Experience High School or Associate Degree in Science required2-5 years’ experience in data analysis is requiredExperience in leading task force and coordinating with various CFT members is required. Strong analytical/problem solving skills and the ability to think strategically is requiredComputer skills including MS Office, Microsoft Project, and Lotus Notes or Outlook is requiredExcellent oral, written and presentation communication skills; with the ability to present information internally and externally, as requiredPreferred Educational Qualification and skills:Proficient in Microsoft Excel, word, Power point and data analysis toolsStrong understanding of automotive quality processes (PPAP, 8.D, SPC)Excellent communication and coordination skill across teams and suppliersStrong attention to detail, organization ability and analytical thinking. Physical Demands/EnvironmentThis position requires the following physical abilities: to sit; to use hands, to reach with hands and arms, to stand, to talk, to hear and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. In addition, the specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.The work environment is mostly sedentary; however there is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration and to outside weather conditions.
