Overview: Inuka is working with a leading renewable energy company to bring on a Supply Chain Director based in Bujumbura, Burundi. The role will lead the strategic and operational management of procurement, logistics, and warehousing functions, ensuring effective planning, sourcing, transportation, and storage of goods and services in alignment with donor regulations and company policies. The Director will also drive ERP adoption, supplier governance, and efficiency across all supply chain activities. Responsibilities: Develop and implement supply chain strategy aligned with business and donor goals. Lead procurement, logistics, and warehousing operations.
Ensure compliance with donor regulations, World Bank frameworks, and local laws. Manage supplier contracts, negotiations, and performance monitoring. Oversee fleet, inventory, and material movements. Drive ERP adoption and efficient inventory management. Set and track KPIs, ensuring accurate reporting to management and donors. Conduct risk assessments and strengthen internal controls. Build and train supply chain teams to deliver high performance. Foster strong relationships with donors, suppliers, and authorities. Qualifications: Master’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or related field. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in progressively senior supply chain roles.
At least 5 years in managerial positions within donor-funded or public infrastructure projects. Strong regional or international supply chain exposure. At least basic proficiency in French. Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken). Basic knowledge of Kirundi preferred.
