Job Description

Supply Chain ManagerDepartment: Supply Chain / OperationsLocation: New Cairo, EgyptReports to: Managing DirectorPurpose of the RoleTo lead and optimize the end-to-end supply chain operations including demand planning, procurement, warehousing, logistics, and inventory management. This role ensures product availability, cost-efficiency, and customer satisfaction, while aligning with IMCD’s strategic, compliance and operational standards.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Operational LeadershipDevelop and implement country or business-unit-specific supply chain strategies aligned with IMCD group policies.Lead S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process in collaboration with commercial and finance teams.Implement, execute, and monitor the IMCD Global Supply Chain Policy, including related guidelines, procedures, and instructions.Ensure full compliance with IMCD’s Risk & Control framework.Monitor and improve KPIs (OTIF, inventory turnover, working capital, service level, etc.).Procurement & Inventory ManagementForecast and procure materials based on customer demand and market trends.Optimize inventory levels across warehouse(s) to avoid shortages or overstock.Manage supplier performance and coordinate with global procurement when applicable.Logistics & DistributionOversee local and international logistics operations, including shipping, customs clearance, and delivery.Ensure cost-effective and timely transport while meeting quality and regulatory standards.Manage relationships with 3PLs, freight forwarders, and warehousing partners.Ensure 3PL providers hold all necessary licenses and permits.Establish SLAs and KPIs, regularly review performance, and conduct audits.Lead year-end rate negotiations with 3PL, aligning costs with performance and business needs.Team ManagementLead, develop, and coach a team of supply chain and logistics professionals.Foster cross-functional collaboration with customer service, sales, QA/QC, and finance.Support Business Units with logistics analysis for new projects and customer onboarding.Compliance & Continuous ImprovementEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and local regulations.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in supply chain processes.Lead or contribute to ERP implementation or optimization (e.g., SAP).Sustainable ProcurementLead the local implementation of IMCD’s Sustainable Procurement Policy.Ensure all 3PL providers sign the ESG Standards for Business Partners.Drive EcoVadis downstream supplier assessments.Initiate and oversee CO₂ reduction projects.Key Competencies and SkillsStrong leadership and people management skillsAnalytical mindset with a continuous improvement focusExcellent negotiation and supplier relationship managementProficient in ERP systems (JDE preferred)High sense of ownership, resilience, and agilityStrong Excel and data handling skillsFluent in EnglishEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus)Minimum 7–10 years of experience in supply chain roles, ideally in chemicals, pharma, or FMCGProven track record in leading supply chain operations in a multinational environmentExperience working with regional/global stakeholders and cross-functional teams
