Job DescriptionAs a Sustainability Governance Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening the company’s sustainability governance framework. You will lead and support the development, implementation, and oversight of sustainability-related policies, processes, and controls, with a particular focus on Policy Management, Impact, Risks and Opportunities, and Internal Control. This role is critical in ensuring that sustainability risks and opportunities are effectively managed and embedded across the organization in alignment with regulatory requirements and strategic objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesPolicy ManagementDevelop, maintain, and update sustainability-related policies and guidelines in line with international regulations and standards as well as internal governance requirements.Ensure alignment of sustainability policies with company wide policy, risk and compliance frameworksFacilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure policy integration across business units and functions.Impact Risks and Opportunities (IRO)Lead and coordinate the work of identifying and assessing sustainability-related impacts, risks and opportunitiesEnsure there are relevant mitigation plans and, where required, remediation plans in place for prioritised risks and impacts.Contribute to the development of scenario analyses and materiality assessments in line with ESRS and other reporting frameworks.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate sustainability impacts and risks into enterprise risk management processes.Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD)Lead the work integrating the HREDD process with the IRO processSupport impact assessments and mitigation planning related to human rights and environmental impacts.Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HREDD processes across the company and with relevant external stakeholders.Support the monitoring of regulatory developments and emerging best practices in human rights and environmental due diligence.Internal ControlDesign and implement internal control mechanisms according to established company frameworks, to ensure compliance with sustainability policies and regulatory requirements.Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sustainability controls and recommend improvements.Who You AreYou have a university degree in Sustainability, Law, Governance, Risk Management, or a related field, and bring with you 3-5 years of solid experience in sustainability governance. Your background includes risk management, internal control frameworks, and sustainability reporting standards. You have a strong grasp of EU sustainability regulations, particularly CSRD and CSDDD as well as international standards related to human rights and environmental due diligence.ommunication is one of your strengths, and you’re confident in managing a wide range of stakeholders. You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy working collaboratively, and are energized by engaging with diverse teams. With strong project and process management skills, you know how to drive initiatives forward.
