About Our ClientOur client is a leading international private bank with a strong presence across Asia. They seek a senior Business Risk leader to sit alongside the Front Office (1.5 Line of Defence), partnering with Market Heads to strengthen sales conduct, investment suitability, and regulatory compliance across the franchise.Key ResponsibilitiesFront Office risk partner (1.5 LoD): Embed and oversee first-line controls with Market Heads; challenge and advise on risk, conduct and control matters.Sales & suitability oversight: Drive adherence to client-profiling, product appropriateness, suitability documentation, and post-trade surveillance for advisory and discretionary mandates.Regulatory & policy compliance: Ensure alignment with MAS/SGPB code and regional requirements (e.g., HKMA/SFC where relevant); coordinate with Compliance (2LoD) on interpretations and changes.Product & governance: Support new product approval, marketing material review, campaign governance, and investment/product-lifecycle controls.Control framework & testing: Lead RCSA, define KRIs/KPIs, thematic reviews, issue/incidents management, and action-plan remediation; oversee complaints handling and sales practice risks.Training & conduct culture: Uplift front-office risk awareness through targeted training, playbooks, and coaching; champion fair-dealing outcomes.Management reporting: Provide timely dashboards, trends, and escalation to senior management and regional/head office governance forums.Change & projects: Drive control enhancements, process simplification, and digital/surveillance tool adoption across markets.RequirementsBachelor’s degree with 12–20+ years in private banking/wealth management across Business Risk/COO, Front-Office Supervision, or Compliance/Controls.Strong knowledge of private banking sales processes, investment suitability, product governance, and conduct risk (advisory, discretionary, structured products/derivatives).Solid grasp of regulatory frameworks (MAS; and ideally HKMA/SFC or other Asian regulators), cross-border marketing, and documentation standards.Proven ability to influence without direct authority, partner with Market Heads, and manage stakeholders across Front Office, Product, Compliance, Legal, and Audit.Excellent numerical/analytical skills; confident with metrics, trend analysis, and management presentations.Professional certifications (e.g., CACS, IBF Advanced/CMFAS, CFA/CAIA) are advantageous.Application ProcessPlease submit your resume to Emily Tan at et@empowerpartners.sg, quoting the job title.
