Job Title: System AdministratorLocation: San Jose, CA (On-Site)Client: Technology & ElectronicsRate: $45-50/-hr.- W2 only We’re seeking a DevOps/System Engineer to manage, optimize, and secure our IT infrastructure. You’ll handle installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux, Windows, and virtualization environments (VMware, KVM) while supporting R&D operations. This role involves improving system stability, automating infrastructure, managing storage (NetApp, Dell/EMC, Pure Storage), and ensuring robust security and performance.Key Responsibilities:• Engineer, install, and maintain servers, storage, and network equipment (Cisco, Mellanox).• Administer VMware, Jenkins, Git, LDAP, and Foreman systems.• Automate infrastructure using Ansible and support DevOps workflows.• Monitor systems, apply patches, and ensure backups and recovery.• Manage user accounts, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system documentation.• Support after-hours or weekend operations as needed.Qualifications:• 6+ years Linux/Windows system administration experience.• Strong skills in VMware management, DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git), and automation.• Certifications such as Linux+, RHCSA/RHCE, or Security+• Experience with Cisco networking, scripting (shell), and security monitoring.• Excellent multitasking and communication skills; ability to lift and install hardware.
