System Engineer

Description:Insight Global is assisting a client in identifying a System Engineer for a 6-month contract-to-hire hybrid schedule opportunity north of Atlanta, GA. This team is responsible for architecting, deploying, and supporting our IT infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud-based systems. This role predominantly focuses on maintaining Windows Server environments, configuration management, monitoring systems, virtualization platforms, and automation tools to optimize performance and support business objectives. Backup and Restore: Leverage a deep understanding of backup strategies and methodologies, as well as disaster recovery and business continuity.Collaboration and Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to corporate policies and ensure all activities meet safety and security standards.Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation for server, network, and IT infrastructure assets and processes, and demonstrate strong ticket management skills.End-User Support: Provide next-level support for technology-related issues and requests.Planning and Execution: Ability to follow work plans, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.Productivity Apps: Intermediate proficiency and experience using the Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word). Project Management: Lead small-scale IT efforts, as well as participate in cross-functional projects.Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on hardware and software systems to ensure reliability.On-Call Support: Participate in a rotational schedule for off-hours system support.Security: Showcase a strong security mindset, with a clear understanding of security best practices, security controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
