IT Systems Engineer / Systems Engineer / IT Project Engineer / IT Infrastructure Engineer / IT System Administrator / IT Engineer / Linux System Engineer (With Strong Linux Experience)Widen The Net is the recruiting partner to Snap Inc and we are hiring for their contract positions globally.Snap is looking for a system engineer to join their growing Snap Lab/R&D teams in the Netherlands to support the site with a focus on systems, sorting existing systems and assisting with hands-on discovery. Initially focused on the systems, network and infrastructure for the new Eindhoven office and the role will expand into other regions across EMEA.You’ll support the provisioning, maintenance, and improvement of systems and services leveraged across Snap:-Leading the discovery, sorting through existing systems (most urgently Linux systems/OS, manufacturing and lab systems, on premise and GCP platform, network, datacentre, backups, storage, etc.) at lab sites and connecting the dependencies and system integrations-Systems migration: migrate from legacy systems to Snap infrastructure and network and migrate from on premise to GCP cloud platform-Engineer and implement new solutions and provide documentations-Participate in remediation efforts, performing system maintenance, and regular patching-Work with network engineering team to gather requirements for enterprise and datacentre network infrastructure-Interact with vendors and act as go between for Snap Labs PoCs-Develop highly scalable tools and contribute to system automation by leveraging configuration management, images and templates across Windows and LinuxRequirements:The ideal candidate is a sysadmin/systems engineer with knowledge across Linux systems/OS, IT infrastructure and network (focus on systems, NOT hardware) and even more ideally familiar with lab hardware or systems and IT security. They should be a "doer" not a coordinator.-Strong knowledge in Linux-Knowledge in network (VPN, TCP/IP, VLAN, LAN, datacentre, etc.)-Experience in systems migration or knowledge in GCP or AWS cloud platform-Strong communications skills-Fluent English (Dutch NOT required)Initially 12 months full time contract with the option to extend yearly. 5 days onsite in Eindhoven, NO on-call required. Offering competitive market rate based on experience (and support 30% tax ruling for eligible candidates).
