OverviewThe Sales Analyst is part of the central Data team, acting as a key business partner to Sales. This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to help sales teams make informed decisions, improve performance, and drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating complex datasets, uncovering insights, and communicating them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role combines sales analytics, business strategy, and market intelligence with a strong grounding in data tools and methodologies.
Working in a dynamic, cross-functional environment, the Sales Intelligence Analyst ensures that data-driven thinking is embedded in every step of the sales decision-making process. Key Responsibilities• Data Collection & Analysis – Gather, clean, and analyze internal and external sales-related data to uncover patterns, trends, opportunities, and risks. • Sales Performance Tracking – Define and monitor KPIs such as revenue, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs to support performance management. • Market & Competitive Intelligence – Integrate market trends, customer behavior data, and competitor insights to inform commercial strategies. • Forecasting & Predictive Modeling – Leverage historical data and predictive analytics to support pipeline planning, sales forecasting, and strategic goal-setting.
• CRM & Sales Tool Optimization – Collaborate with CRM owners and sales ops to improve data quality, design better processes, and support automation and reporting needs. • Customer Segmentation & Targeting – Analyze customer and behavioral data to identify high-potential segments and support personalized outreach and upselling strategies. • Reporting & Visualization – Build and maintain dashboards and ad hoc reports that deliver real-time visibility into sales performance. • Cross-functional Collaboration – Act as the data team’s primary liaison to Sales, ensuring alignment on metrics, data sources, and definitions. Share knowledge of the broader data ecosystem to support integrated business insights.
Skills and Qualifications• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a business-focused mindset• Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e. g. Looker, Power BI, Tableau)• Familiarity with SQL for querying relational databases (required)• Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for data manipulation (nice to have)• Understanding of sales processes, funnel metrics, and forecasting techniques• Experience working with CRM systems (e. g.
Salesforce, HubSpot) and improving data pipelines• Strong communication skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights• Comfortable working with stakeholders across multiple departments (Sales, Marketing, Finance)Preferred Background• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or related field• Previous experience in a commercial analytics or sales operations role is an advantage• Experience in a fast-paced, data-driven environment (e. g.
