You will have the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders and specialists on interesting projects and being part of a team that makes a difference.Job PurposeTo supplement the skillset and offering of the existing SLR Africa Mine Waste and Geotechnical Engineering teams.Minimum RequirementsA civil engineer with at least 5- 10 years of experience with tailings and water dam design and associated lining systems.At least 5 years of experience with general engineering design project management, construction contract administration and construction site supervision.Proficient in Word, Excel. Proficiency in geotechnical and modelling software would be an advantage.Valid driver’s license. Must be willing to travel.Professional registration with ECSA (PrEng) in South Africa would be an advantage.Skills/ AttributesSound writing and communication skills.Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work.Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Strong mentoring skills.Strong organisational and planning skills.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Project management skills.ResponsibilitiesDesign of tailings and associated water dams, and related infrastructure including costing and reporting.Project engineering management.Tender and contract documentation and administration.Construction monitoring and management.Site visits and audits.General assistance with broader civil engineering activities (hydrology, water balances, structural)SLR’s approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
