Purpose of the RoleThe HSE Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive, people-centric safety culture while ensuring compliance with national, international regulations and best practice safety protocols. This hands-on position requires proactive engagement with employees at all levels to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental sustainability. Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance & Auditing: Conduct and coordinate regular Kingspan Group safety audits across manufacturing and warehousing sites to ensure adherence to local, national and ISO regulations. Safety Protocols: Develop, implement, and monitor best practice safety procedures, ensuring alignment with industry and ISO standards.
Develop safety culture where every employee feels empowered to take ownership of workplace safety, driving continuous improvement and shared accountability, fostering a workplace where safety is recognized as a fundamental value, not just a compliance requirementTraining & Engagement: Facilitate safety training programs, toolbox talks, and workshops to enhance employee awareness and participation. Incident Investigation: Lead root cause analysis for workplace incidents, ensuring corrective actions are effectively implemented. Risk Management: Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement preventative measures to maintain a safe working environment. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation, environmental policies, and industry best practices.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and oversee emergency response plans, including fire safety and hazardous material handling. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with site managers, employees, and external regulatory bodies to promote a culture of safety and compliance. Management Framework: Utilise the site ISO 45001 Management system framework to ensure that the system if providing value and structure for the site. Work Health and Safety Statement: The employee is required to comply with the NSW Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and take reasonable care to protect their own health and safety and that of others.
Personal Qualities, Attributes and Required SkillsWork experience and education: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HSE roles within manufacturing and/or warehousing environments. Experience conducting HSE/ISO audits, risk assessments, and safety observations in dynamic environments. Strong knowledge of compliance auditing, WHS regulations, and environmental sustainability practices experience. Certificate IV (minimum) in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS), Environmental Management, or equivalent preferred. Knowledge in Eco Online system or similar - preferred. Exposure to manufacturing/warehouse environment - preferred. Personal Attributes: Proven ability to engage and influence teams with a hands-on approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a positive safety culture. Practical problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to safety. Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining accurate records and compliance documents. Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments with multiple risk factors.
