To better serve our clients' business needs, we have also organized our expertise into the following practice groups:Anti-Trust and Competition Aviation and Logistics Banking and Finance Compliance and Investigations Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions Dispute Resolution EmploymentEnergy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Investment Funds Real Estate and Hospitality Restructuring Tax and Transfer Pricing Technology, Media and Telecoms PositionWe are currently looking to recruit a qualified candidate to join as a Tax Adviser in our Yangon office in Myanmar.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a multi-cultural environment with career development and personal growth opportunities.Reports to: Myanmar Tax Partner, Managing Director, Regional Tax Partners and Head of the Practice GroupKey external relationships: ClientsKey internal relationships: Project Managers, Representative Partners, Senior ManagersPosition type: Full Time - RegularApplicants eligible: Local residentsWorking Hour: Mon-Fri, 9am - 6pmLocation: Yangon, MyanmarPrimary Responsibilities Of The RoleThe primary responsibility of this position is to participate in building of strong value-adding practice expertise beyond the local tax advice and to contribute to the sustainability and development of the Firm's business.Main duties of the roleReport to and take instructions from the Partners, Managing Director, Directors, and Heads of the Practice GroupAssist Legal & Tax Advisers in delivering tax advice exclusively on behalf of the Firm and its ClientsPrepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance for the Firm's ClientsReview Clients' tax compliance records, identifying and reporting tax issues or risks (e.g., during tax due diligence)Support tax audits, reviews, and respond to requests for supporting documentationLiaise with the tax authority and other relevant regulatory bodiesProvide general tax advisory servicesParticipate in knowledge management, professional development, and administrative activities as requiredPerform other duties reasonably expected of a Tax Adviser from time to time. RequirementsEssential skills & proficiencyUniversity-level qualification in Law or professional accounting certification4-7 years of relevant tax experience. Proven experience in liaising with Myanmar tax authoritiesStrong ability to manage and enhance client relationshipsDesirable:Proactive attitude and genuine interest in tax advisory workProficiency in both spoken and written EnglishPrior experience in providing tax consultancy or advisory servicesExperience with a Big 4 or other top-tier accounting/tax firm is highly regardedApplications should include a curriculum vitae or resume, accompanied by a covering letter outlining the candidate's interest in and suitability for the position.All applications and expressions of interest will be treated confidentially, being reviewed only by DFDL Senior Management and Human Resources team.Please note that this position is open until filled.
