Build high-performing teams to deliver in client engagements. Translate broader strategy into a compelling team vision and goals. Applies deep knowledge of disruptive trends and competitor activity to drive continuous improvement.The day-to-day responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):Drafting of tax Legal DocumentsManaging and advising clients on tax dispute mattersLiaising with SARS on mattersOnboarding and billings of clientsQualificationsMinimum QualificationsLLB Degree or Bcom Accounting/ Accounting sciencePost graduate tax qualificationAdmitted Attorney (Preferable)Minimum Experience5 years post articles legal experience with a law firm/professional services firm or similar3 years SARS advisory experience3 years’ experience in a client-facing and/or advisory role (preferable)Core Professional Technical CapabilitiesCore understanding and practical experience of the Tax Administration ActGood working knowledge of the Tax Dispute Rules including the Tax Board, ADR, Tax Court Rules and Settlement provisionsUnderstanding of the Income Tax Act and Value Added Tax ActsUnderstanding of the Custom Excise ActPrevious experience with Voluntary Disclosure Program will be advantageousDelivery excellence - Develops a network of internal and external contacts within the organization to facilitate the sharing/retrieving of information and providing assistance to clientsAnalytical Thinking and Problem-Solving - Effectively organizes and presents complex issues, results, and recommendations to management and clientsTechnology Tools and Solutions – Spots emerging industry-specific technology trends and recommends how clients can prepare for these changesTechnical CapabilitiesUnderstanding of Administrative LawGeneral understanding of litigation in the High CourtsKnowledge of the Companies Act 2008Excellent drafting and research skillsLeadership / Behavioural CapabilitiesLiving our Purpose - Acts as a role model, embracing and living our purpose and values, and recognizing others for the impact they makeInfluence - Influences clients, teams, and individuals positively, leading by example and establishing confident relationships with increasingly senior peoplePerformance drive - Delivers exceptional client service; maximizes results and drives high performance from people while fostering collaboration across businesses and bordersStrategic Direction - Understands key objectives for clients and Deloitte, aligns people to objectives and sets priorities and directionTalent Development - Develops high-performing people and teams through challenging and meaningful opportunitiesAdditional InformationNote: The list of tasks / duties and responsibilities contained in this document is not necessarily exhaustive.
