Job Description

Purpose of the Position: Lead, manage and develop the OpCo tax function to support the delivery of the OpCo finance vision/strategic plans, for example:Ensure full compliance with all country specific tax compliance obligations (including proper management of all tax audits).Ensure full compliance with all HEINEKEN tax reporting requirements, both internal and external.Proper and timely identification & management of tax risks.Optimization of the OpCo Total Tax Contribution and net income position.Effective business partnering ensuring proper involvement in key OpCo business decisions, influencing across all relevant OpCo functions to create awareness and impact of taxes.Responsibility for OpCo specific tax management towards the local tax authorities, in alignment with the HEINEKEN Global Tax function.Comply with the HEINEKEN Tax Control Framework.Key Accountabilities: Tax & Excise Compliance Full ownership of OpCo tax and excise compliance responsibilities including gathering/storing of accurate tax data records, co-ordination of internal/external stakeholders.Ensure timely and accurate filing of relevant tax / excise declarations and payment as required by local legislation.Key contact for all internal/external tax/excise audits – lead/co-ordinate the audit process.Manage transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with local transfer pricing regulations.Tax Reporting and Communication Full (functional) ownership of the tax figures/disclosures included within the internal and external (consolidated) reporting (including OpCo Annual Plans), provide proper analysis of the data underlying the tax figures and necessary explanations to Global TaxTax Risk ManagementIdentify and manage tax risks – act upon signalled deficiencies or potential improvements.Develop, localise, implement, and maintain tax (and related) best practice policies ensuring compliance with the HEINEKEN Global Tax Strategy, the HEINEKEN Company Rules, the HEINEKEN Code of Conduct and the HEINEKEN Tax Control Framework.Tax / Excise Legislations and Regulations: Timely identification of relevant developments within the local tax / excise legislation/regulation.Provide and update the information regarding tax / excise matters / issues to Management Team and Department Heads that may affecting company business and /or employees.Sharing of knowledge with impacted departments.Tax Planning Identification and implementation of appropriate local tax planning opportunities, taking a long-term view compliant with all HEINEKEN rules.Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize the tax position.Work with the internal stakeholders including Finance and HR Department to ensure that accounting at source for all benefits in kind transactions occurs correctly.Look for optimization of Non-Deductible Expenses to become Deductible ExpensesRelationship with Tax Authorities Build and develop good relationship with the local tax and excise authorities in line with the HEINEKEN Global Tax strategy – based on respect, transparency & trust.Business Partnering and Decision Support In relation to business opportunities/OpCo projects: challenge, steer, advise, provide analysis and insights, either at request or under own initiative, for relevant stakeholders including OpCo Management team and Global Tax.Contribute to the OpCo decision making process - provide actionable insights and information, giving proper interpretation and guidance.Support OpCo business development projects e.g., acquisitions, divestments, and reorganizations.Business Partnering: Tax Lobbying Provides support/steering and appropriate technical expertise to OpCo Corporate Relations to protect HEINEKENs interests and optimize the OpCo national lobbying activities.Information Technology Functional owner of tax IT systems and/or applications partly or fully relating to taxation within the OpCo. Support IT technology projects led by Global Tax.People & Capabilities Manage the (tax) employee lifecycle including involvement in recruitment, performance management and career development.Coach colleagues both within and outside the OpCo tax function, delivering tax training for relevant personnel as and when required.Drive own personnel development in management, finance competencies.Qualification & Experience: Bachelor or Master degree from Fiscal Administration / Accounting / TaxMinimum 6 years as Tax Consultant (preferably from Big Four) or 8 years as Tax Manager in an MNC.Strong strategic analytical skills Intellectual curiosity and ability to search out facts without prior process/guidance.Passion for delivering result, take ownership and translating insights into concise practical plans for execution.Strong interpersonal/communication/influencing skills to win support and drive decision making at MT level.Familiarity with the SAP system strongly preferredFunctional Competencies: Tax and Excise, Tax / Finance Transformation, Digitalization & Finance Processes#HEINEKEN #DoSomethingThatMatters
