Job Description

We are seeking experienced tax professionals with effective tax technical knowledge and practical experience to join our Tax Avoidance Taskforce. As a Tax Officer (APS 6), you will apply your knowledge across a range of complex structures, significant transactions, and high-impact activities to identify and mitigate potential tax risks. These roles play a critical part in detecting and addressing tax avoidance to protect revenue, uphold the integrity of the tax system, and improve the tax performance of Australian and international businesses. The Tax Avoidance Taskforce is part of the Compliance and Engagement Group and plays a key role in ensuring multinational enterprises, large public and private businesses, and associated individuals pay the right amount of tax in Australia. We strive to understand our operating environment and its impact on how we administer the tax and superannuation systems. This enables us to continuously improve taxpayer and staff experiences while delivering better outcomes for the community. In these roles, you will make a positive impact on the taxation system at both national and international levels. You will directly contribute to programs involving tax assurance, compliance, and dispute resolution that support the work of the Tax Avoidance Taskforce.
