Established over 20 years ago, Tax Professionals have developed a continuously growing suburban practice focusing on an integrated service model incorporating tax compliance, accounting, and business advisory and planning. The business, which recently won a prestigious business industry award and an Approved Training Employer (ATE) with CA ANZ, is looking for an experienced Intermediate Taxation Accountant to help service the client growth it is currently experiencing. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Compliance – the usual mix of preparation of financial statements, taxation returns, GST returns, Payroll filing, reporting, and relevant other compliance work for all types of entities, including companies, partnerships, sole traders, private individuals, and trusts. Prepare financial statements in compliance with the statutory requirements. Examine the entities operating costs, income, and expenditure. Carry out financial investigations, prepare reports, and undertake audits. Liaising regularly with inland Revenue on clients' tax affairs. Provide financial and taxation adviceProvide assurance about the accuracy of the information contained in the financial reports. Liaising with clients in relation to their tax affairs.
Fostering key client relationships. Skills and Experience:  With a focus on professional and personalised service there is a strong amount of client interaction and relationship building.  Along with your natural interest in providing responsive customer service you will also bring the following skills and experience: At least 2 years NZ specific prior experience in an accounting practice as well as a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification. A strong level of technical taxation knowledge is a prerequisite.
Knowledge of annual financial and management statements and reports, taxation and accounting planning, and business analysis Good knowledge of computer based accounting systems such as Xero and MYOB. Your colleagues should be able to describe you as having a high degree of accuracy, a passion for customer service, a record of fostering key client relationships, and an engaging communication style. This is a Full Time Role requiring at least 37. 5 hours of work per week. The salary is $65k to $75k depending on experience.
