Your daily tasks will include close coordination with Tax Governance, Siemens IT, and external providers to ensure a future-ready Siemens IT landscape equipped with the necessary tools. Your role will involve driving innovative digital advancements within Siemens’ tax function in the VAT/GST area. This includes developing and implementing strategies collaboratively, while factoring in cross-border requirements. You will also manage or participate in projects, acting as a key interface between business functions and IT, particularly in further developing existing solutions. Additionally, you will lead and develop a diverse and global project team based in Germany, Portugal, USA and India, taking responsibility for budgeting and staffing. Provide clear and timely reporting to accountable management. Liaise with functional management and key stakeholders on operational topics, fostering alignment and transparency. Your defining qualitiesEducationSuccessfully completed studies in economics, law with a focus on taxation, or a comparable field. Experience & SkillsAt least five years of professional experience in indirect taxation, with a focus on VAT (consulting, projects, compliance, processes, and digitalization)In-depth knowledge of global indirect tax requirements for implementing tax determination solutionsSolid expertise in SAP FI, SD, and MM processesHands-on experience with automated indirect tax determination solutions (e.g., Vertex) and thorough understanding of software for indirect tax compliance and reportingProject management experience and familiarity with both waterfall and agile methodologiesProven professional and leadership skills, with experience in leading smaller teams and guiding them to successGood knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ideally, initial exposure to digitalization topics or digital business modelsWays of working: Strong analytical and problem-solving mindsetStructured and proactive approach with a focus on execution and resultsAbility to manage cross-functional collaboration in complex projectsLanguagesYour strong communication skills enable you to negotiate confidently in both German and English.
