We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to the Tumu Whakarae and contribute to the smooth functioning of our leadership and governance operations.
This trusted role offers a unique opportunity to work at the heart of the organisation, supporting strategic priorities and ensuring the Tumu Whakarae, Pou Arataki (Board of Directors), and wider management team are well-informed, well-prepared, and well-supported. Key responsibilities include managing executive calendars, coordinating governance documentation and work plan, facilitating board communications, maintaining records and registers, and supporting the delivery of strategic projects and internal communications. Above all, you will reflect and uphold the values of manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga, whanaungatanga, and rangatiratanga in your everyday mahi. He Kōrero Mōu / About YouOur ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience in a senior administration or executive assistant role, ideally at governance or leadership level. Exceptional time and calendar management skills, strong attention to detail, and a methodical approach to mahi. Skilled in preparing minutes, agendas, board papers, and presentations; excellent formatting and editing ability. Familiarity with board structures, hui processes, and committee coordination. Professionalism and confidentiality in handling HR matters, legal issues, and strategic planning. Strong communication skills. Proactive and solutions-focused with a calm, organised presence.
Understanding of (or willingness to engage and grow in) tikanga and mātauranga MāoriCommitment to upholding the mana and aspirations of Ngāi Te Ruahikihiki ki Taumutu. A full and clean NZ Driver's Licence is required. Pre-employment checks may include a ministry of justice, police, and security checks as required.
