Brisbane School of Distance Education is seeking applications for a Teacher Aide to join our team.In this role, you will contribute to the provision of a quality educational service by assisting and supporting teachers with the preparation and enhancement of learning materials and associated activities.If this sounds like you, we encourage you to apply now.This position is being offered in aTemporary Part-Time capacity (0.55FTE), 42 hours per fortnight.About The RoleAs the Teacher Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers, HODs, students and parents to deliver a high-quality online learning experience. The role involves active participation in programs that support all abilities and gender diversity, requiring flexibility, alignment with the school's core values, and a commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive and valued environment for both staff and students.Your ResponsibilitiesAs the Teacher Aide, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Keeping records of subscription info (usernames/passwords, expiry dates etc)Updating department contacts list, floor plan, evacuation list, FWA roster, language timetableDrafting requisitions for stationery, text books, teacher resources, subscriptionsKeeping Budget folder up to date with correspondence, invoices etc and monitoring remaining budgetManaging languages library – borrowing and returning books and resources for teachersTracking class numbers by year level, language, SB/HBKeeping registers for IT equipment (headsets, styluses, USB hubs)Scanning resources for teachersAuditing Student FoliosUndertaking general office organisation – filing, labelling, printing, laminating, binding documentsCarrying out Fire Warden dutiesInforming supervisors for students' attendance (including international students)Each termManaging Compass (setting up learning tasks, adding and removing students, auditing assessment grades and GTMJs/ISMGs)Preparing for onsite exams (manage room bookings, organising laptops from IT, liaising with Facilities and Community and Engagement for the day, printing exam papers, organising stationery, dictionaries etc)Formatting assessment documentsAuditing Moderation sheetsTerm 1 Specific ResponsibilitiesCollecting mandatory training certificates for teachersSetting up Student Folios, filing and renaming assessment documents into folios for each studentFormatting Band Plans, Year Level Plans and Unit PlansAdding events to staff calendar – Enrichment activities, onsite exams, Language Teachers' Collaboration MeetingsTerm 4 Specific ResponsibilitiesDesktop publishing Work Rate Calendars for the following yearCreating certificates and packaging gifts for mailout to Year 12 studentsUploading assessment documents and Student Folios to SharePointEnrichment Days and Collaboration MeetingsAssisting with organising Enrichment activities ie. 3 x movie days, 3 x culture days, 2 x film festivals (liaising with teachers to organise consent forms, managing RSVPs, tracking attendees list, booking rooms/IT equipment, liaising with Facilities and Community and Engagement for the day, organising items (costumes, decorations, prizes, morning tea/lunch), creating items (posters, bookmarks, certificates, magnets/badges, newsletters), assisting teachers on the day).Assisting with organising Language Teachers' Collaboration Meetings (invitation mailout, responding to RSVPs, tracking attendees list, booking rooms/IT equipment, liaising with Facilities and Community and Engagement for the day, organising catering, creating items (posters, certificates, newsletters), assisting teachers on the day)Other JobsAssisting TRS teachers (computers, swipe cards, general admin)Auditing consent forms including third party IT formsCompiling and tallying Mandatory Language Elements surveysAttending PDs in order to support the teamOffering in-class support to students via Teams Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
