Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Learning Support Teacher's Assistant (TA) to join our Upper School team. In this role, you will work closely with the Upper School Learning Support Teacher to provide essential academic and administrative support, ensuring that students with diverse learning needs can thrive in a rigorous environment.The ideal Learning Support TA is a proactive communicator who balances empathy with firm boundaries, helping students navigate their academic responsibilities with confidence.Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional & Student SupportTesting Accommodations: As a Learning Support TA, you will monitor and supervise students in a secure environment during assessments to ensure all approved accommodations are implemented accurately.Independent Work Supervision: Provide oversight and guidance during independent study periods, helping students stay on task and manage their time effectively.Progress Monitoring: Follow direction of the Upper School Learning Support Teacher and support them in following up with teachers on student progress.Collaborative Support: Work in close partnership with the Upper School Learning Support Teacher to implement Student Education Plans (SEP).Administrative & ClericalPaperwork Coordination: Handle clerical duties, including preparing, organizing, and filing necessary documentation for student files.Communication: The Learning Support TA serves as a bridge between the Learning Support department and subject-area teachers to coordinate scheduling and student needs.Resource Preparation: Assist in adapting or organizing materials to meet specific student accommodations.Office Assistance: Assist the Upper School Office in the mornings with the morning attendance and other duties as needed.Qualifications:Experience: Previous experience as a Teacher's Assistant or working with adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.Communication: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate in English professionally with both faculty and students.Organization: Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding testing protocols and paperwork.Adaptability: A flexible mindset and the ability to pivot between administrative tasks and direct student interaction.Note to Applicant: The Learning Support TA role is vital to the success of our Upper School community.
