This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the operational excellence of a global production network, working alongside Engineering and Product teams to ensure seamless capacity planning, troubleshooting, and infrastructure development.Key Responsibilities As part of our Deploy & Run team, you will be responsible for: Rack and stack of servers and network equipment Fiber and copper cabling, maintenance, and documentation Hardware swaps, break-fix, and RMA coordination Physical access control and escorting Smart hands support for remote engineering teams Environmental monitoring and incident response Inventory and spare parts management (RFID) Execution of change management and preventive maintenance programs Compliance with ISO, SOC, HIPAA and other industry standards Monthly audits and implementation of security best practices Development and maintenance of monitoring and automation tools Netbox data entry and infrastructure auditing Liaison with facility maintenance and change management teams What You’ll Be Working On Capacity Planning & Growth: Collaborate on network capacity analysis and expansion projects across data centers and Points of Presence (PoPs) Troubleshooting & Support: Tier 1 support for switch provisioning, server build failures, and physical layer network defects Site Builds & Operations: DNS mapping, connectivity troubleshooting, automation verification, and network audits Hardware Management: Lead switch swaps, appliance replacements, and RMA processes Optical Network Expertise: Diagnose Layer 1 issues using OTDR, OTLS, VFL, and inspection tools Project Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams on structured cabling and switch uplifts Process Improvement: Drive operational excellence through root cause analysis and solution implementation Network Optimization: Conduct link stability studies and recommend performance enhancements Innovation: Participate in internal working groups to evaluate emerging technologies Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience Strong understanding of IP networking, VLANs, routing, optics, and Layer 2/3 protocols 5+ years of experience with BGP, MPLS, L3VPN, VPLS, Multicast, CoS, TCP, IPv4/IPv6 Proven experience in data center environments and network engineering roles Familiarity with CLOS architecture and structured cabling (SMF/MMF) Vendor management experience in logistics and infrastructure deploymen t Preferred Skills & Certifications BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline 5+ years of scripting experience (Python, Perl, etc.) Automation tools: Ansible, REST/gRPC, NETCONF Network certifications (CCNP, JNCIS or equivalent) Experience with open-source NOS and hardware/software development Hands-on experience with new hardware platform deployment Service line: PJM Segment
