As our Salesforce team expands, we are creating exciting opportunities for professionals throughout New Zealand.About The Role (your Why)As a Salesforce Tech Lead, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical services and support to clients, working across innovative and exciting solutions for a range of organisations throughout Australia. In this senior leadership role, you will own the architecture and delivery of the Salesforce platform, setting technical direction and standards, influencing senior stakeholders, and ensuring best practices are followed. Leveraging your depth of experience as a hands-on developer, you will design, build, and deliver customised solutions using tools such as Apex, JavaScript, Mulesoft, and BizTalk across the entire Salesforce ecosystem, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and scalability.Key ResponsibilitiesLead architectural design and solutioning for new Salesforce initiatives: data model, integrations, security, performance and scalability.Produce clear recommendations and trade‑off analyses (e.g., single org vs multi‑org, integration patterns, middleware choices).Define and enforce coding standards, automated testing, CI/CD best practices and release processes for Salesforce (Salesforce DX, Metadata API, SFDX).Mentor and guide developers and QA on Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL, integration patterns, and quality engineering.Drive DevOps maturity: version control, automated deployments, code quality gates, environment management and rollback strategies.Be the escalation point for technical issues; lead technical reviews and ensure operational readiness.Build prototypes and proof‑of‑concepts; contribute to hands‑on development and participate in sprint delivery.Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.What You Will BringProven Salesforce technical lead experience, with a strong hands‑on background in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce (if relevant), Flow and metadata.Demonstrable experience designing scalable Salesforce architectures and integration designs (REST/SOAP, middleware e.g., MuleSoft, or platform events).Experience implementing Salesforce DevOps and CI/CD (Salesforce DX, Git, Gearset, Copado, Jenkins or similar).Strong coding standards and code review experience; commitment to automated testing and deployment pipelines.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to present technical tradeoffs to non‑technical audiences.Experience leading and mentoring technical teams, establishing best practices and uplifting delivery capability.Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, Application Architect, System Architect, or CTA) are desirable.Why join us here at Datacom?Datacom is one of Australia and New Zealand’s largest suppliers of Information Technology professional services.
