Job Summary7 to 12 years of relevant hands-on experience. Strong conceptual knowledge in Java and API automation Conceptual clarity, design thinking, and the ability to write clean, maintainable code are key expectations for this role. Strong hands-on experience in RESTful and SOAP API testing. Proficient in tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or Insomnia. Skilled in automating API test cases using frameworks like: Rest Assured (Java-based) TestNG, Cucumber Capable of validating request/response elements including headers, status codes, payload, and schema (JSON/XML). Ability to create or enhance API automation frameworks. Experience in assertions, test data parameterization, and request chaining.
Solid understanding of authentication methods such as OAuth 2. 0, JWT, API keys, and Basic Auth. Integration of API tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc. Experience in version control (Git) and generating automation test reports using Allure/ExtentReports. Basic SQL knowledge to verify backend impact or troubleshoot issues. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with developers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders
